I wouldn't. I couldn't. It's just an attention whoring tatic on the parent's part. I can guarantee the child has NO idea what is really going on.

have criteria and ratings.
for example each judge (there should be several)
would rate each contestant on several factors
such as:
clothing/dress
appearance/personality
interaction
talent
posture
vocabulary
etc.
then you can just tally up the numbers to get a winner.

by their premature physiques... their prepubescent curves...
ok ok, SO just kidding. it's pretty much based on what's deemed "cute" and their wardrobe. unless they're older, their personalities don't truthfully have much to do with it.
