Abreu is,Sheffield is a homerun hitter, Abreau is an one base hitter,he'll do anything to get on base and he can drive in runs,He"s also not affraid to bunt.Sheffield just wants to hit home runs,He doesn't do the little things to get on base.He holds his bat like he's chopping wood.He never came through for us in a Big spot!!

The better player is Sheffield. The thing is, Abreu has more upside. Sheffield is better both defensively and offensively, but his career will be over in 2 years. Abreu will be a Yankee for probably 5+. Also, the Yankees were going to get more for a trade for Sheffield than they were for Abreu, especially since Abreu has a no-trade clause.

Sheffield.... he's had more experience.. he's been with the Yankees 18 yrs... Abreu had been with them for 10... There both right fielder's and they have about the same stats on defense. Abreu's batting average is .297 and Sheffield's is .298. Sheffield doesn't bat as much as Abreu. He sometimes has a DH. Sheffield has only 6 HR and 25 RBI. Abreu has 15 HR and 107 RBI. I like Sheffield more just because i've seen him play more than Abreu. There only five years apart in age. There's not much difference in them other than theire batting average. Anyway! I pick Sheffield!

Bobby Abreu he gets the job done. All Sheffield does is try hit everything hard. Abreu and Sheffield both have good arms. And career wise I think Sheffield is the better hitter but I think Abreu will be better. Right now I'd go with Abreu.

Abreu in a landslide. He's a much better person plus he is much younger. Also, Abreu rarely fouls off pitches (because Sheffield does that a lot) and gets the quality hit at the right time. He also has his fair share of RBI's.

Abreu because Sheffield is getting old and is prone to injury. He may have had a better career but Abreu is better at the moment

For power, Sheffield.
For average, Abreu.

But remember, Sheffield is further along in his career and is somewhat passed his prime. Abreu will be extremely effective with the lineup that surrounds him. Both are head cases!!

definitely abreu, sheffield is a pure hitter, abreu is a great all around player, though i hate him for going to the yankees

abreu is the better "fit" for the yanks. he's younger and cheaper. and gets the job done. plus, the yankees don't need anymore power, they just need a guy that can put the ball in play. sheff is by far the better player. for those that say sheff is injury prone, last year was the most time he has ever missed in his career. he is anything but injure prone, just watch a little sportscenter
