...It may or may not have been posted on here, but here goes: All things being equal; you, your mom, and your wife are in a boat that overturns. You love both of them dearly. But only you can swim and is able to save just one. The other must drown. Who would you save? Be serious guys. This Q was administered by a psychologist at the college I was attending. I saw some guys break down and cry over this. No kidding.
...I personally cannot answer this. It's way too difficult: I cannot see leaving my mom to drown nor can I see my wife either, as I love both of them very much.
...Good luck answering.

The honest to god truth is that I would die trying to save them both.
But for the sake of the question, I would save my wife because I know my mother would want me and my wife to have a chance. In fact if I saved my mother she'd slap me upside the head for leaving my wife behind.

My wife. I look at it like this, my wife is only 27 years old. My mother is 58 years old..... My logic says that one has had a fuller life and I should be happy to have had this time with her. My wife's life would be cut short based on life expectancy these days so it would be harder to handle. I think when given a choice older people may agree with this logic but that's easier said than done.

Oh, there's no doubt I would choose to save my wife. I chose to marry my wife, but I didn't choose the mother I have. My kids need their mother, but all of my mother's kids are grown. Finally, my mother is 77 years old and is not afraid of death. It would be tragic, yes, but this is not a particularly difficult question for me to answer.

Wife. It's an easy question - your mother is older and your wife is younger and needed for a younger family. It wouldn't make sense to choose your mother over your wife - your mother would probably choose your wife over your mother!

I would choose my wife. I love my mom with all my heart but she would have wanted me to save my wife instead of her. Thats how amazing she is!

my mother has shown me god is more important to her than me i would help her drown and save me wife send the old cow to where she wants to be sooner. i choose to be with my wife not my mother. my mother choose to go her own way so did I. not all of us want our mothers around and have found out who they really are. mine lives for herself not for helping me and her kids i have seen it. not all are like this but mine is. sometimes it take a deep look back to learn this.

Let them help each other to shore and I will swim on my own. We all make it Hurray!

Or......I turn into the boat from the incredibles and I carry them on my back with feet as the motor. I speed them to safety.

The first answer I had is logical. It would illogical for you to say that neither of them new how to swim...then it would just be a stupid question.

I have to side with "karl k." If you really choose to be heroic, sometimes it works out for the best - and if not, you died a hero anyway. Only a coward would take one and leave the other.
