hit home at all. All that Spandex and tesosterone, its ridiculous pantomine for gods sake - not an art form. And as for Led Zeppelin. All that medieval poetry and reaching for the 'skyeeee!' My God are you really buying into all that rubbish. It amazes me.

I am American and I have never heard about Stadium Rock

Your question is confusing. If you mean "stadium rock" in reference to bands like Boston, Styx, Journey, Foghat, etc. that have been overplayed for 30 years on classic rock stations, then I submit that very few Americans are "obsessed" with those bands anymore, and really haven't been since the early 80's. That's like asking why are those wacky Brits so hung up on Duran Duran or Marillion? We know that they haven't been for 20 years. It's just that American radio stations have been in a sad state since the 70's, choosing to either play current top 10 songs to death, or play old classics to death. The flip side is the "alternative" stations that play a song perhaps 6 times and then proclaim it "tired" or a "sell-out".

Now if you're referring to people being obsessed with seeing rock bands at stadiums, then I must say that I don't know of anyone that would prefer to see a band in 100 degree heat, 80 yards from the stage, paying $5 for a bottle of water or $8 for a beer, than to see the same band at a 1500 seat theater or a small club. Stadium shows are the handy-work of promoters, my friend, not the bands themselves (not that the bands are complaining about the money or number of tickets sold, mind you!).

As for Led Zeppelin, that's a matter of personal preference. Yes, they are overplayed on classic rock stations, but I feel that they were a great band. Medieval poetry in rock music was a novel concept when they started doing it. I can realize that it isn't for everyone, but as for me, I certainly dig it, just as I do Marillion!

Stadium Rock is a huge arena for a Rock and Roll show. In every countries there are many Rock groups who entered the Stadium to play the music. Not only the Americans. They also produce many good artists in the past and present.

you´re a little bit snooty british and a narrow minded guy. Don´t judge any nations with that wrong idea !!

The first american Hardrock band was Grand Funk Railroad who had played in Shea Stadium New York city 1971.
they won over 300.000 people, and they broke the new record beatles ever had 5 years earlier. this fact was true, but it was almost 40 years ago !!

Who are you to judge was people like to listen to? Honestly, just because you are a snooty Brit doesn't mean you have the right to tell anyone what to listen to and enjoy. Personally, I am not a huge stadium rock fan but you can't tell someone they are wrong in a matter of taste. I think Asian music is horrible but I don't say anyone is wrong for liking it. Worry about yourself and leave others alone. Oh yeah, go see a dentist.
