Probably a little bit evolution, and mostly your personal experiences.
I have a real thing for scrawny scruffy guys with dark hair and eyes, because of some erotic experiences I had with a guy who looked like that.
I had a bad experience with a tall, well-built guy with short pale blond hair and blue eyes, so in general that tends to turn me off.

Everybody had their own preferences. For example, just because I'm not attracted to someone doesn't mean that I think that they are unattractive.
I've found that how you were brought up can have a big impact on this. For example, I was raised by two strict marines and to this day I'm not attracted to guys with long hair. I may think the guy is cute, but I would probably not pursue him.
But it can go the other way too. My sister likes guys with long hair and more liberal views. The exact opposite of my parents.

every1 has there own system on what they find attractive and vice versa. when i c a fine young lady, i mite think shes attractive, where as you might think shes ugly.

No, it's just your personal preference, there are things you fin attractive and unattractive in a women. It's not them, its you.

i think it is societal and cultural. it's what you grow up with and the covert teachings that you learn from family and friends.
