I know that he isnt actually going to trial right now, it is still a small possibility though. But for arguments sake, what if Germany tried him and found him guilty of his charges? What kind of punishment would it be, where would he serve time? Should Germany get in this business anyway since it doesnt even involve them?

I am not in anyway dumping on Rumsfeld.(as ib_enigma would have you believe). This is a legitimate hypothetical question. If you dont like the "lefty-website" how about fox news?

Donald Rumsfeld is an American citizen and has committed no crime in Germany, therefore he cannot be tried in Germany. The garbage the Germans are putting out is just that GARBAGE. If Donald Rumsfeld had in fact committed a war crime, and he did not, he would be tried in the Hague.

Why is everybody dumping on Rumsfeld, just because things did not go as expected? He has done a lot for his Country, far far more than most of you will ever do. He did not have a crystal ball, nor did anyone else who agreed with the actions he took, at the time. Anyway, the Pentagon badly needs reforming, as did the Army after the mess created by you-know-who.
Stop reading the lefty websites, it's all BS
As for the Germany bit it, is too ridiculous to be true, and we, as a Country, to the man, should tell them to mind their own pathetic little Empire that we allowed them to keep after their REAL atrocities!..

If Germany were to put Rumsfeld on trial, find him guilty and sentence him, I doubt that Rumsfeld would ever leave the USA and go to a place where Germany or a surrogate could arrest him.

I don't think this is a "small" possibility. He will be tried and found guilty of Crimes Against Humanity, or have you forgotten about the video evidence or Donny's gas deal with Saddam? The World Court will get around to Cheney, Bush, Rice, et. al. and they are subject to hanging, just as Saddam. A desk is a dangerous place from which to view the world. Our shame in history will be that we, in this generation, were the watchmen on the walls of world freedom, and we let our own leaders destroy most of it! On this planet, in this nuclear age, war knows no boundaries, so neither should justice. Rummy was party to the decision that our courts, our authority, applies everywhere, so he was beatten by his own rule. No place for a despot or traitor to hide.

why dont you also look up who the company, with oversight by govt, (not german govt) has been after in the past. there main goal is to overthrow the us govt. They have been trying to do this type of things since Carter
"the center for constitutional rights" thats the name

this is exactly why world govt is a croc.
After FBI agents raised concerns, military investigators began reviewing the case and in July 2005 said they confirmed abusive and degrading treatment that included forcing al-Qahtani to wear a bra, dance with another man, stand naked in front of women and behave like a dog. Still, the Pentagon determined "no torture occurred."

THEY CUT PEOPLES HEADS OFF.
