Okay, I already asked about how toys aimed at young females are superficial. Now another question: Ever notice that there is a racial bias in the commercials. There is usually an ethnic version of barbie, bratz, and other dolls. Now why is it only the white blond one is advertised on television while the other ethnic ones are only showed at the end? Just thought I'd point it out and ask :D.

Unfortunately, it's clever marketing. Since they are targeting a certain economic market, they will air the commercials most suited to that specific channel.. Try flipping to a Spanish network or a black network and you'll see that commercials for the same product, sometimes target that group specifically. It's smart, not biased.

Yeah me and my sister just noticed this.....it used to be just the white blond Barbie and now they have all types of other ethnicities which I think is great but yeah I guess the first one the blond white ones are the most popular or something so they show them first. When I had Barbies, I would dye their hair different colors...none of them were ever blond.

You are so naive. The white barbie is advertised more because it sells the most. It's, like everything else, all about money.

easy.... they show the white dolls because they are advertising to white consumers... that's who spends the most money... It's not a race a racial thing... It's a money thing.

it all got to do with making that money that all they care about just making than million dollar.. thats why they do it.
