I've just recently watched an episode of Heroes for the first time. I'm confused to why everybody wants to save the cheerleader. [[Save the cheerleader, save the world ??]] Also, how many of them are there? What are their names and their special powers?
If anybody could get me a website or just tell me, that'd be great. Thanks!

Heroes is a new show on NBC that has the format of a comic book. Every week (like in a new volume of a comic book), we learn just a little more about who they are, and what they do.
The "Save the Cheerleader, Save the World" mystery will be revealed in next Wednesday's episode...as the past 6 (maybe 7) shows have been leading up to this big reveal.
Hiro- Japanese guy can bend the space/time continuum, and enjoys his new found "powers".
Claire- the Cheerleader, has the power to heal herself; i.e.- if she mangled her hand in a weed-wacker.....it would heal before her eyes.
Nikki- single mom of Micah (the chick from Legally Blonde and Final Destination 1 and 2) has a "Shadow" (who "protects" her with great physical strength and violent ways)...
Wow...I suggest going to the www.nbc.com site....they have great write-ups, blogs, even a weekly comic-style installment.
Also, J.J. Abrams....writer of LOST on ABC writes for this show and he is pretty awesome. They plan to do some connections between the two shows (although on different networks) very soon.

Well ive been watching the show from the beginning and im also confused about the cheerleader thing. But i can tell u that i think its one of the best shows. There are like 5-7 of them they all have different abilities. and are all supposed to get together to save the cheerleader from a killer named cyler whos been killing people wit abilities like them and next on his list is the cheerleader. U should watch the first episode on youtube or something to cath up (if u want).

The cheerleader's father is "evil" as far as we know and is after the heroes. There are more heroes than we know so far, but so far there is Isaac, who can paint the future while he is high, 2 brothers who can fly, a women who has multiple identities(the other identity kills people)(Nikki), her husband who can go through solid objects, and her son who it appears can make things work? then there's a guy who can bend time and the cheerleader(Claire) who can heal herself (invinsible) And of course there's the cop who can hear people's thoughts. It has not yet been revealed exactly why they must save the cheerleader, but Hiro came back from the future and told them that was what they must due to prevent the bomb in NYC.
