I have recently "adopted" a soldier overseas. This is a program where we send letters and care packages on a regular basis (Soldier's Angels). My adoptee is a woman of Puerto Rican descent. I only know this from her email address. I know next to nothing else about her; I am not going to assume she speaks spanish or anything else. What I am wondering is if there are any specific treats, food items, or personal care items that are specific to people of Puerto Rican descent. I just want to make sure she has as much of home as possible in that hellhole. Thank you!

well... if you want to buy her something to make her feel " at home" (Puerto Rico) try this:
we love chips that are called "Platanutres", they are made from plantain and have salt or garlic in them
Maybe get her a CD ( or dl some music) with some " Parrandas" music. Parrandas are music for the Christmas season in Puerto Rico.
Everywhere we go... we need the sound of the COQUI!!!. Try getting her a CD with coqui sounds.
We have natural candy that we LOVE.. maybe you can find some at a local puerto rican store.One of them is "Dulce de Naranja" or orange candy. Its very good.
We love to make music... a pencil.. a drum... ANYTHING that make a sound lol... maybe some Maracas?
those are some things that a Puerto rican might miss... if anything feel free to contact me.

just send her stuff that a normal human being would like. Puerto Rico is common wealth, we've been US citizens since 1917. not to hurt your feelings but why does her race have to be a point???? why can't she be a soldier like every one else?

pondering I have been given stabbed by utilising one woman and shot by utilising yet another ..... they're incredibly stable in mattress .... yet they push their boyfriends to do stupid issues and then are unhappy that he does not have "Mucho Macho"

I THINK SHE WOULD ENJOY ANYTHING YOU SEND HER JUST BECUASE IT WAS SENT FROM THE HEART. THAT'S REALLY NICE OF YOU TO DO SOMETHING LIKE THAT.
