i have that car with an '87 350 that i believe used to be TBI, but is now 4 bbl carb w/out any computer. it ran fine until one day it started running really rough after i ran it hard and then it quit running all together. I rebuilt the carb, it's getting fuel, the timing is right, i checked the dist. and the chain is good, i was wondering if i'm not getting power to the spark plugs? i replaced the coil and it works, but could it be that i'm not getting power to the coil? What else could be the problem?

By getting fuel do you mean it has fuel in the carb?

Did you set the floats right?
With that four barrel you should have about 6-9 PSI of fuel at the carb. Check the fuel filter and pump and also for a leak somewhere. You could be sucking air somewhere.

If you got spark, and everything else you say is right, you should have a running engine. Unless your distributor is 180 degrees out!

Fuel pressure sounds a little on the low side, possibly causing it to starve for fuel.

Check to make sure that you don't have valves hanging open. Either that, or when you ran it "hard" you may have spun it too fast and done something to the push rods. Take off the valve covers, and you'll be able to see if everything is working when you crank it over.

it takes fuel, fire, and commpression for a engine to run. first check that you have fire at the plug. the first thing i would look at is the chip in the dist. and replace it with a performace chip from accel or msd.it sounds like you have been everywhere else.
