My son is 8 and loves the gamecube! He has been beating games forever now and is really good at them. Well I am a little stumped on what Santa should bring this year and was concidering the wii. Anyone who can help me with this decision is a life savor.

I absolutely believe the Wii would be a good choice for your son. As mentioned earlier, all Gamecube games will be playable on the Wii. Also, many Gamecube game sequels will appear on the Wii. The sequel to Zelda is a launch title and follow up games to the Mario, Metroid, Pokemon, and Smash Bros franchises are scheduled for later this year or early next year. Finally, and I believe this is the best reason, the Nintendo Wii is designed to be a system everyone can play. That being said, there's a good chance you and your son will have a great time playing Nintendo Wii games together. Wii Sports, which comes with the Wii, looks like a great game that every member of the family can enjoy.

For an 8 year old Nintendo Fan, Definately. The Wii is also the cheapest console out there, and all of his Gamecube games will still work in the Wii.

Considering your sons age and interest you should get a wii. Its fun for all ages cheap and if you get another controller you can play with him.

I don't think it's worth it, but...if he likes the gamcube then I would buy it for him.

I just don't like the games made by Nintendo, that's all.
