I have that problem too, i find that taking breaks more often, but shortening them helps a lot. Also, chewing Orbit Gum (Brand of Choice) helps me get my work done quicker. If your assignment requires use of the computer but not the internet, i find that taking out my wireless card works just fine hehehe....

You know I was going to answer this question several minutes ago but only just now got around to it!!!
Actually, I do know how you feel. Sometimes I drive myself crazy because of the guilt-buildup brought about by putting off something I know I should do.
Generally, it's because I think it will be too hard or that I won't do it well or even that it will take too long so let's not start!
The best way I have of combatting this, is to make a list of what I have to do. I break down the task into smaller sections so that I can actually cross something off the list BEFORE the whole task is completed. It helps me feel I am making progress.
Whenever I do the thing I've been putting off, I'm ALWAYS amazed how less difficult it was than I expected and I always wish I had just done it and got it over with and spared myself the agony!

It's called discipline. By the way, knowing that won't help. I too procrastinate.
Make a schedule. Reward yourself for following it. Punish yourself for failing to follow it. Be reasonable with regard to your reward/punishment system. Reward/punishment should not physically injure you or be a health issue. In time, following a schedule will become a habit.
You might model your schedule after military training. Get up early. Eat at the same time. Go to be at the same time. Exercise. Perform tasks. Take breaks all on schedule. After you make your schedule, be your own drill instructor. You can do it if you want to. Again, be reasonable.

So, you're lazy? Well, don't give up. You should take it slowly, piece by piece, rationing everything out. It will get you much further in life than waiting for the last moment. You should discover that you will be less stressed and your grades will be better.
Otherwise, concentrate on a goal. Something that you treasure, love, that brings you happiness, and do it for THAT!
