So she will be dealing with a teenager when she is in her 60's, want to retire when the child is college age, and very likely die before her grandchildren are born?
35 or younger sez I or you will be so far removed from your child's generation that you will not be able to relate well to them.
In a word, NO.

It is unlikely. Less than 3 percent of women aged 45 or older get pregnant within any one year. It will be harder on her and riskier than if she was younger, but if she is very healthy, and takes great care of herself, then why not?
In 1950, my great aunt was 43 when she got pregnant. Even though there was no amnio or much other technology back in those days, she gave birth to a healthy son. She is 99 years old today and still going strong!

women these days are having babies much older than 45...there are many things to consider....like how the baby will be affected with older parents eg by the time the child is 21 the mum is 66+....also there are medical risks for mum and bubs........if your gyno is happy and your happy to do this and can...then really the decision is ultimately up to the woman......would i do it.....no....im 37 and have 2 littlies....i find it hard to physically keep up with them at times.......

Its okay for you to have a baby it just puts you at a higher risk than a 22 year old. The doctors just watch you more.

Thats bordering a bit late, but not unheard of. Just think when her child is 20 she will be 65 and more like a grandmother figure to that child ............ *pulls face.

if her health is in good shape she will be fine although there is STILL the category that she will be in as high risk because of the age. Although that always does not mean a thing!

It involves more risks to the mother and the baby but with good medical supervision it should be OK. :D

As long as she has prenatal care. Age just ups the ante for possible chromosomal/genetic problems that one can have at any age.
