I see your point, but who cares? Soulless brutal violence has been a cornerstone of horror films for the last 25 years. If you look at the Friday the 13th movies, you'll see only more of the same, sometimes people just like to be shocked at what they're seeing and the visceral effect it has on them. Personally, I'm not a fan of the Saw movies, because of the fact that they want to make it seem like there's all this intrigue and suspense; those movies take themselves way too seriously. But I won't fault them for their depravity. If it ain't your cup, man, don't drink from it.

once you're speaking franchise - that is complicated to maintain a very good run or a good more effective area II, III, IV... and many times, the flicks replace palms as in, new manufacturers purchase the franchise with the desire of capitasing on the first enormous hit with devastating consequences for the viewer. those contained in the horror kind which have managed to stay above water and proceed to be palatable, i might want to imagine, comprise: The said series, Underworld, extraterrestrial beings, very last vacation spot... Others like Halloween, Friday the thirteenth, the ring, etc may have had 2 solid runs and then fell flat on their faces.

I disagree i have seen all three saw movies and apart from 2 which was just a needless violent film i have to say i enjoyed one and three - i did get intrigued by the charachters and wished them out of he hole the were in , It was meant to get you thinking about how you view your life - do u feel that there is no point - if so why would you fight for yiur right to existence. They were very well made but i done think that they could possibly bvring out an other saw as it would take it too far

I got the first Saw DVD out and watched it last night and I found it rather good and dare I say a little horny in a twisted sexual power trip sort of way.
I enjoyed the way the instigator was in the bathroom lying in blood playing dead, keeping cool watching and listening while the dummy killer was nervously playing out his part in order to get the serum and live.
You know it might not be to far from reality.
my GF is in the other room watching celebrity jungle get me out of here or something like that.
Wouldn't it be fantastic if in 50 years we could just breed human like creatures lacking in any sort of feelings that would make it cruel... Guess i am trying to say some sort of android but made from human tissue but with only limited intelligence that we could use as reality TV .
Think of the possibility's of gambling over the life and death of something meaningless, and unlike dog or c ock fights their would be no emotion lost, only the blood of a lost soul, that knows nothing except survival and killing.
p.s hope your not grooming people on here ;-()

I like the saw movies,,,i haven't seen the third one YET. I think it's pretty good. It's not that I don't care what's happening to the people on there, it's just it's their own fault that they make the mistakes that kill them. For instance, in the second one, that one chick that reaches her hand in that box, she could have stuck one hand in there and then pushed up on the blades to get her arm out with the antidote and without hurting herself. But what did she do? She pulled down her arm like a stupid person and let the blades slice into her skin and then stuck the other arm into it too. So, no, I don't feel sorry.

Don't watch the movies then, if that's how yo feel about them. Your opinion is not the only one out there. If it was, then there would not have been Saw 2 and Saw 3. Or Hostel. That's probably why it's a MOVIE. For someone's entertainment. Entertainment.

Nobody's holding a gun to your head forcing you to watch it. If I know I will find a movie disturbing, I simply do not pay to see it. Problem solved. Other people going to these kinds of movies does not harm you, not unless you've been kidnapped lately and awakened to discover that the key to your death trap has been implanted in your best friend's corpse, lol.

As long as people pony up the $$$ to see 'em, they'll keep making 'em. It's the Way of Hollywood, where the marketplace controls all.
