Sorry, they were never the greatest for me. You are comparing too many different styles or genre's of rock. Go listen to some Mountain, look for some of Jeff Becks work. And for me, the best is CSN&Y though I do not put them in the same genre as the Stones. One thing I will give the Stones though is longivity.

Music is ART, not a SPORT. Saying an artist is greater than another is absurd. They could be the most PERSISTANT band in the world, but the term "greatest" is far to subjective. I mean, there's no measuring stick for that. Do you go by number of hit singles? In the 60's there was a band called the Beatles that were probably the greatest at that, considering their brief lifespan. Do you go by landmark albums? In the 70's Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin produced albums that still remain high on the the Billboard catalogue album charts. Do you go by staying relevant? Since U2 hit the scene in the 80' no other band has been as relevant as they have been. Look, I'm not saying that the Stones aren't a great band, I am just saying that there is no way to prove that they, or any other band for that matter, are "The Greatest". It's all a matter of personal preference. And besides, there's plenty of room for every great band.

Who the Bleep suggested they have been the perfect rock band ever? they're ok. They have been plenty greater proper in the 60's. They make their funds traveling. they don't have the huge numbers in record revenues like they did in the 60's and early 70's. this is the info! you choose stable no longer worry-free drivin and organic rock & roll? Then AC/DC is the band!

Sorry I think they suck.

Yeah all their songs are still around, but so are a lot of other songs, from other bands.

Why do you think they are unique? The only reason they are still popular is because all the old folks like them. There are very few "old folk" artists these days. So you stick with what you know, right? Yeah I guess I'll be that way when I'm old too!!

Don't get mad, you said your piece, I've said mine! Enjoy and reminisce!

WHO SAYS THEY ARE? Do you think that? That's your opinion then. I disagree totally!

I couldn't say who are, but I don't think it's them! Perhaps U2, maybe Pink Floyd (who I do like better) . . . . hmmmmm

What about Daniel O'Donnell and Aled Jones? Oh yeah - they're not bands, are they. And they're sh*t.
