I don´t think so if that all Beatle songs are musically always excellent. In fact there are some weakest songs too, like the other bands also had recorded. The following songs are perhaps the weakest songs, Beatles ever produced in the studio:
1. baby you´re rich man
2. blue jay way
3. Mr. Moonlight
4. Every little thing
5. words of love
6. I don´t wanna spoil the party
7. wait
8. what goes on
9. Flying
10. P.S I luv u
11. Maggie mae
12. dig it
13. the word
14. think for your self
15. wild honey pie
16. anna

I personally prefer The Who, Led Zeppelin or Deep Purple. Because it´s not just more powerful, but their styles seemed to be more like a youth rebellion in the end of 60´s...all discussions are open !

The earliest Beatles songs were rather trite and amateurish - but so was the rest of the music of the day. "Love me do" makes the Bay City Rollers seem cutting edge.

Much of their later music was experimental. Some worked, some didn't.

Ok, whoever said they were all **** except lennon obviously missed the next 30 years. Never Heard of wings? or How about The Traveling Wilburys? I'll accept that ringo was pretty ordinary, but George Harrison was a brilliant guitarist, and McCartney was a far better lyricist for mine, because he could get more in touch with his emotions then Lennon ever could. Now that that's been said.

I believe the weakest song is Love Me Do, but it can be excused because it was their first hit. So maybe I Want To Hold Your Hand, or how about Birthday, if we can even call that a song.

If you have ever sat down and listened to the Lyrics of Harrison's Norwegian Wood, they are probably the most simple lyrics i have ever heard. In fact, i think a six year old could churn them out. But of course the music is pretty good and most of the time i don't notice the lyrics.

Wow, how did Birthday not make your list!

While I agree with almost all of them, I disagree with the following:

1) If I had to pick the worst Beatles album, I would say it was "Beatles for Sale", which includes "Every Little Thing", "Mr. Moonlight" and "Words of Love". Not only because it has the worst sound quality in the world, but because it is a mix of remakes of worn-out oldies and awful Lennon/McCartney compositions (with the exception of 'Eight Days A Week', of course). The last two I agree are pretty bad. But "Every Little Thing" is not. I personally like the song. That's just my opinion, anyway.

2) P.S. I Love You. I know many people who grew up in the 60's. And they all remember this song, fondly. As I understood, it enjoyed a moderate success. I understand how it can seem "lame" in comparison to Rock & Roll of the late 60's, the 70's and the 80's.
But then again, so do 'Love Me Do' and 'Baby, It's You', which sound very similar.

I would add "I Want To Tell You" (from 'Revolver") and "Old Brown Shoe" to the list.

BTW: I agree with SWEET_COOKIE...What's wrong with Maggie Mae? It's one of the many funny songs they included in their later albums, like 'Maxwell's Silver Hammer', 'All Together Now' and 'You Know My Name...'

Ya sure.....there's a few that aren't exactly personal favorites. Some I loved way back when and don't like now, if I have my choice, and others I love even more now than in the past. When I'm down....Ringo makes me feel good. Never had much of an opinion of him before but love him now. Always loved George. They are all so different it's amazing they worked so well together. I will forever be a Beatle fan whether all their songs are personal hits or not. But I feel they all did great on their own. "Flaming Pie" is my favorite McCartney album. "Cloud Nine" for Harrison. "Imagine" for Lennon and can't remember which one for Ringo. They all just make me feel better.

It's hard to name just 1 great band during that time. We were blessed with many. I loved Moody Blues and Jethro Tull.

Out of all of them, I would say I like Deep Purple the best BY FAR. Who Do We Think We Are is one of the best albums by some of the best musicians. Nobody can sound like Ian Gillan. I LOVE LOVE LOVE his voice. Just listen to Rat Bat Blue.
As far as the Beatles go. I'm not a big fan. I mean they are good and you have to respect what they did for music, for sure, but I don't sit around and listen to their music. My favorite Beatles song is Eight Days A Week.
Thats my story.

i only agree with some of them: Blue jay way, every little thing, and flying are great songs... listen them more carefully, dude

i think that the weakest songs are the ones not written by them.
I mean, included mostly the first LPs.

The who, led zeppelin and purple wouldn't have existed if not for the beatles... Don't forget it.

Whoah, I really forgot a lot of the weak songs like the Beatles. Yeah I know that they changed when they started using a lot of drugs, but I really can't remember their weak songs. well Everybody has their weak points. Oh well, I like the Beatles, but I preffer classic heavy metal like AC/DC, Metallica, Ozzy Osbourne, Black Sabbath, Motorhead, Iron Maiden, and lot more.
