I have a downloaded jpeg in my documents, now I want rid, I've found I cannot delete it.

I run Windows XP, the jpeg in question has no option when you right-click to delete it, if I click delete in the status bar it does nothing, I've tried unlocker, but to no avail. The option for unlocker appears on every file but this one. Looking at the properties of the jpeg file, it has none at all...everything is blank! However, ti acts, opens and behaves just like a jpeg looks, except the picture does not exist.

How do I delete this thing?!?! any ideas??

All input appreciated..

Try renaming it first. Moving it into a folder like Temporay Internet Files and then deleting the entire contents of the folder using your browser also works sometimes. If all else fails, and you know how to do so, try using the DEL command in DOS!

You might try rebooting into Safe Mode with the command prompt, navigate to the folder where the .jpg is stored, and use the "del" command to dump it. If it says it can't be deleted, you might also try changing the file attributes with the "attrib" command first, then try deleting it again. Good luck.

I used a application it sluggish in the past stated as Winundelete. you may additionally use Photorescue or the FAT32 version of GetDataBack (for Win98 FAT32) as there is likewise an NTFS version. Photorescue is in all probability the ultimate and it is not that costly, the two $20 or $30 downloaded - I even have it and it gets photos lower back even from reformatted digicam enjoying cards. I used it and additionally GetDataBack to get better approximately 160GB of archives from an exterior stressful force that misplaced its itemizing. you are able to desire to place in this technique on yet another laptop and then connect the disk force containing the pictures to this laptop. you are able to basically get better the pictures to a distinctive force so it somewhat is beneficial. For me, Photorescue has proved itself time and time lower back - even beating Norton's WipeInfo to reconstruct pictures... besides the certainty that the 'government Wipe' version of WipeInfo run 5 circumstances is sufficient to wipe the digicam card clean.
