Only 55 percent of all Americans know that the sun is a star.
About 100 people choke to death on ballpoint pens each year.
Why is this happening? What can we do as the general public to assist our fellow man to learn?

I hope it's not but some of the cruel questions posted on this site makes me think it is. I do know how to give the choking maneuver so I could get that pen out.

This is bullshit im not buying it. People don't swallow ballpoint pens. .. I don't buy these statistics. I think people are smarter than that. And almost everyone knows the sun is a star were taught that in kindergarden for goodness sakes.

Unfortunately, it DOES seem that people are becoming "dumb and dumberer" as time goes on. Lazy? Yep. Unmotivated? Yep. How can we change this demoralizing trend??

Ignorance is epidemic. If you need an example of how bad it is getting, you need only look at the results of the last congressional election in the U.S.
