simply, it's just that our own individual combination of experiences and upbringing, surrounding, techings, etc are unique to us.. and all those things also shade the way we approach life and how we think and act... that is why we all have our own versions of 'reality'

We really live in the same reality. Not comparing yourself to others means living according to your own self-generated standards of how to live. For instance, should you smoke? Many people smoke, but it's up to you to create "your own reality" and decide whether smoking should be a part of that reality or not. So it's the same reality for everyone, but how we decide to live is really a self-generated experience.

Whoever says that must believe that one's own perceptions determine their own reality. By its own definition, reality must be real - that is it must represent truth. If another person's reality is based on real truth, I don't see any problem in sharing it. But, most likely, what they are referring to is one's own fantasy.

Creating your own reality by Seth

You are given the gift of the gods; you create your own reality according to your beliefs; yours is the creative energy that makes your world; there are no limitations to the self except those you believe in.
You create your life through the inner power of your being whose source is within you and yet beyond the selves that you know. If you do not like where you are, then examine those beliefs that you have.
You are in physical existence to learn and understand that your energy, translated into feelings, thoughts and emotions, causes all experience. There are no exceptions.
Once you understand this you have only to learn to examine the nature of your beliefs, for these will automatically cause you to feel and think in certain fashions. Your emotions follow your beliefs. It is not the other way around.
I would like you to recognize your own beliefs in several areas. You must realize that any idea you accept as truth is a belief that you hold. You must, then, take the next step and say, "It is not necessarily true, even though I believe it." You will, I hope, learn to disregard all beliefs that imply basic limitations.
I repeat: Your ideas and beliefs form the structure of your experience. Your beliefs and the reasons for them can be found in your own conscious mind. If you accept the idea that the reasons for your behavior are forever buried in the past of this life, or any other, than you will not be able to alter your experience until you change that belief.
Your spirit joined itself with flesh, and in flesh, to experience a world of incredible richness, to help create a dimension of reality of colors and form. Your spirit was born in flesh to enrich a marvelous area of sense awareness, to feel energy made into corporeal form. You are here to use, enjoy, and express yourself through the body. You are here to aid in the great expression of consciousness. You are not here to cry about the miseries of the human condition, but to change them when you find them not to your liking through the joy, strength and vitality that is within you, to create the spirit as faithfully and beautifully as you can in flesh.
Often you let false beliefs blur that great vision. Your joy, vitality and accomplishment do not come from the outside to you as the result of events that "happen to you." They spring from the inner events that are the result of your beliefs.
Many false beliefs therefore are indiscriminately accepted because you have not examined them. You have given the inner self a faulty picture of reality. Since it is the function of the conscious mind to assess physical experience, it [the inner self] hasn't been able to do its job properly. If the inner portions of the self were supposed to have the responsibility, then you would not need a conscious mind."
"I am here to say YOU are truth, and you are history. I am here because you are courageous, because you dare to come to a place where you will be returned to yourself and to your own authority. I am with a group of individuals who will no longer accept their reality from others----who will, instead, accept the joy, the creativity, the challenge of recognizing the fact that you create your lives individually and en masse. I am here because I am with a group of people who no longer accept excuses for what they do not like in their reality, and a group of people who will be courageous enough to be proud of their achievements.
I am here to tell you that you form history. It does not form you. You make ideas. You are the masters of ideas----they shall not enslave you. You shall not throw your own being down and your humanity and your intimate life for an idea. Because you are human and alive, because you are consciousness, you form ideas. They come from you. You do not come from them.
Ideas are creative and joyous and alive, but they belong to consciousness. Consciousness gives birth to ideas. You give birth to the ideas within you and that you follow. Do not be mislead by any system of beliefs. This class, hopefully, will free you to move in whatever way you want, joyfully and with exaltation, within the beliefs of your own consciousness.
You all know the authority is within yourself. Often you are afraid of following it and so you project it outward upon others and follow them blindly, recognizing the authority but not recognizing it as your own. And, of course, not having to take responsibility for it either, not having to accept the creativity and the accomplishment of it either, for that you are denied.
You make contracts with yourselves [to a student] and while you still believe in the reality of such contracts you may make better ones and better ones; you may give yourself a better deal, until you realize that you do not have to make contracts to begin with.
We will not be dealing, then, with reincarnation in historic terms. We will NOT, here, trade on set of dogma for another. We will not be dealing in terms of karma, and how you have chosen a life now because you were a bad girl or a bad boy in a past life, because you made contracts with demons.
All time is now. You are real now. Your reincarnational selves are real now. What you do affects each other. The power of the present is now. Some day you will understand what I tell you again and again, and in each of your private illuminations, greater insight will come upon you than you can now imagine.
When you think you are trying to find yourself, you think of a self that is somewhere perfect, and no longer becoming, and no longer bothered by desire. Desire is interpreted in many ways in many systems. And when desire is gone, so shall being be gone. And since being shall never vanish, so shall the desire within your soft, resilient eyes [to a student] never vanish from the face of the universe. And in the uniqueness and vitality of your own desire is the trust and the confidence you all birth, and that gives whatever gods you acknowledge their existence."
