You can work in a library, government, - actually in a lot of fields that require experience in analytical thinking, writing, etc.

If you are still in school your best bet is to talk with a Career Counselor at your college or university.

They can point in the right direction regarding your career outlook. Do not believe info you have heard from family and friends. They really cannot give you much details unless they have majored in History and also work in that field.

Research is important too. If you don't read up on what could be offered to you how would you know.

Check out this link to start your research:

Hope this helps....God Bless you!

Im a college student, ive beein going to college a LONG time because i majored in what was suppose to land me the best job. I couldn't stand it and had to switch. And all my friends that graduated with degrees in art and english have 40k a year jobs. Dont listen to anyone that tells you to get a degree in this or that. Find something that really turns you on and go for it and do your best in it.

1)You will be more happy and have more fun, you will feel like your life is more fullfilled

2)The guy that does something really stupid really well (not calling history stupid just making a point)will always get paid more than the guy that does something really smart really bad.

I Mean why do you think guys from Jackass get paid more than any of my professors or physicians?

I majored in History and I'm in corporate sales. It helped me because I can remember facts about my clients and their companies and really impress them. Some of my classmates went on to become lawyers. They found that extensive research skills helped them to remember past trials and precedents. Others loved it so much they became history teachers/professors. Start with the end in mind; what would you like to do for a career and see how learning history can benefit you.

Basically you can become a history teacher, if you go on to get a gradate degree or double major with education, otherwise you can leave the country and become an English teacher in the developing world.

Yes there are. You can become a high schol teacher or a college professor.

High School teachers don't make a ton ofmoney but they do get great benefits.

College professors make a considerable amount, but you need a Masters or a PhD.

Good Luck
