No, I have never need darkness to find the the light. But its life you know, I mean life can be better by the bad experiences. For example after dating with some girl friends, I married with the best one for me. After marriage I understood that my ex gfs were necessary for me to find the light: my wife. She and me never asked about our gfs or bfs in the past. We both know that they made our relation stronger. This is my best example to give on this subject.
Also a job, business, choosing friends, even buying a car would be other examples...
