They serve until their term is over. If they served until the war was over every President would start a war near the end of their term.

This President is a lame duck president. That means he is serving his last term, which expires in 2008. It has nothing to do with the war in Iraq and if the voters finally get wise, they will toss out both Republican and Democrat Nominees. Both parties have developed into self perpetuating lie machines. Since the Libertarian and Independent Parties cannot generate the campaign cash from their special interest cronies, they still have the best chance of actually representing the people of the United States, and not the big business and big government special interests that are destroying this country.

He will be the President until his term is over. He does not automatically get to keep being the President until the War is over.

Till his term is up. Johnson was replaced during the Vietnam War, Truman was replaced during the Korean War.

Unfortunately he will have to leave at the end of his term, and hopefully, he will be replaced by someone from the Republican party that has the nerve to finish the job. If a Democrat is elected then America will be known as the country that never keeps its commitments.

He must be impeached to be taken out before 2008. I hate him and wish he was impeached but sadly he won't be most likely.
