To be great wide receiver requires a lot of effort from your point:

Develope a great relationship with your quarterback and practice with him as often as possible. You two should always be on the same page.

Practice being aggressive with catching the ball. 90% of receivers in the nation wait for the ball to come to them, instead of going after it. Think of it from a basketball standpoint; basketball players don't wait for rebounds to come to them, they go after them at the highest point possible. Catching the football is no different.

Practice coming out of your stance consistently. The Defensive back should never know what route you are running, until it is to late. When you a run streak, it should look exactly how you ran an out and so on.

Work on your conditioning and weight training, focus on improving speed and agility at all times. The best receivers are just as good in the 4th quarter as they are in the 1st quarter. Hope this helps.

Alright, a lot of these replied are reproduction-cat. Do parachutes, they'll aid your steadiness probably the most. Also, paintings to your release. Try to not step backwards earlier than going ahead, regularly have your first movement ahead. Speed isn't the whole thing, but it surely does topic, being on a treadmill does not fairly aid it out, simply expand leg muscle tissues, do legs pushes certainly. Also, like a few say, paintings to your catches plenty additionally, it's customarily well to appear again on the quarterback each and every 5 steps, relying at the course.

Stay focused on on-field things. Wide receivers seem to get distracted a lot by the off-field stuff.

Seems like tacking track would be a good cross training sport. I know Reggie Bush was a track star in high school among countless other good football players.

Take this from a quaterback. You need to just forget about everything and let your hands and mind do all the work. if you drop a pass, don't worry about it. If you catch it, but then get hit so hard you cough the ball up, don't worry about it.

Practice, practice, practice.

Specifically two things:

Run sharp, crisp routes.

Use your hands to catch the ball whenever you can. Don't let it get into your kitchen if you can help it.

Hall of Famer Don Hutson once said, "For every ball I caught in a game, I caught a thousand in practice."

Good luck.
