It is OK for Blacks, Hispanics, and Asians to have award shows, scholarships, organizations, etc...- but if Caucasians try to do the same they are considered racists?

I am with you on this one man. If we are all equal how come there is a black history month?

I am not racist, I am just saying why are WHITES alone considered the only racists?

Edit: Yes whites are more priveleged because we use what is giving to everyone in america, and EDUCATION, and FREEDOM. Everyone has a chance here, and everyone can do great....its just that some have an easier chance than others.

Well you have me here thinking, it all deals with the history of our country and how colored people were opressed and abused and having black history month is way of showing how blacks have overcame a lot of things in the past I think that Black history month is wonderful and all but considering the pain that the ancestors went through nothing can amount or make up for that (no award, month, scholarship or organization). And bc of the history of our country anything that a white person say or do as a union will be considered as racism. It's just our society.

ah now you see how contradictory it all is.

Most people that are discriminated against are racist themselves.

They should just wipe race out of it, and make all these scholorships and organizations for poverty in general.
It seems to me that the groups affected by poverty like to use that as an excuse for "poor me, I am a minority, so I have no chance" Bull Sh^t, you have as much chance as anyone else, you just are too lazy to take it.
What did Carlos Mencia say in the dee dee dee song, something about lowering standards? If we keep lowering the standards, then we will never fix the problem,

These groups are just as capable of success as caucations, sometimes it just takes finacial help, and I am caucation, and poor, I need finacial help too.

Really the slave thing happened 150 years ago.
Ther is not one single black person that has gone through that who is still alive.
GET OVER IT
Every race has encountered discrimination in the past. Not just the blacks. What about wicca, why don't we have a wiccan history month. with the salem witch trials, and murder and rampage for 3 centuries? We is our retrobution?

I'll call it totally White foundation. Help deprived white kids in country's like....ummmmmm, well, does Canada count? I'm kidding. Most of the support needed is for african americans, chinese, and hispanics because they don't have as much as we do. If we have an organizations, scholarships, etc it will look like we are just adding to what we already have...

You know I have wondered the same thing. Blacks have a whole month to celebrate their history. I realize we study white history everyday but I think the Asians and Hispanics should plan a revolt.

Maybe because some white people get their hopes up too much as to become a famous comedian like Eddie Murphy or Richard Prior they have unique talent

I see everyone saying that white people have so much more, but that is not always the case! If we're not supposed to stereotype then shouldn't that be across the board? Saying all white people are rich just isn't true and all minorities are not poor.

Wow, that's mean. I don't know. I guess since they were originated from Europe with a bad rep. Maybe you can be a trailblazer and change that for the whole caucasian race. ^_^

It's called the double standard and we got the short end of that one.

because it's assumed that caucasians are naturally privileged.... and they're probably right ;) blacks and mexicans have much higher rates of poverty.. and being in prison. just think of some rich people you know... they're white, right?

as for black history month... growing up we're taught columbus was a hero, right? but he killed the native americans. just one example. george washington was a hero, right? but he owned slaves, like every other white leader. every month is white history month!
