i was sleeping last night and at about 4:30 in the morning I was awoken by a soft high pitch ringing/buzzing sound. It sounded like a bug was flying near my ear. The only differencec is that it was continuous with no change of pitch. I laid there for a few minutes hoping it would stop. When it didnt I turned on the light and proceded to search out whatever was making the noise. I could tell it was coming from one corner of my room where I keep my dresser and sterio, however I could not find the source of the noise. I thought it may be coming from the speakers of my sterio so I unplugged the sterio and the noise continued. I finally gave up because I was very tired and plugged my sterio back in and turned it on to cover up the noise. When I woke up at 7:30 the noise was still there. I got ready for school and left. I just recently got home and went up to my room to find that the noise was still there. I again tried to find the source and came up with nothing. what could it be??

Try: light switches, light bulbs, and electronic toys. Once I had a similar experience and it turned out to be a remote control car that got turned on somehow. It was sitting against a dresser, wanting to go forward and making a noise that made me think the house was haunted!

It could be something simple like some sort of plumbing problem within the walls. If you live in an apartment building, maybe your upstairs neighbor has a faulty smoke detector. It could also be some sort of an electrical thing that was left on that is creating the buzzing noise you are hearing.

Do you have a smoke detector somewhere in the house - like in the basement where the sound could travel through the vents? Sometimes they go off because of low battery or something. Look around.

You need to isolate the source to better determine where it's coming from. Walk around, put your ear to the wall, check outside. If it seems to be in the wall, it may be electrical. Better call a handyman. I'd wait on the exorcist.

Hi there,
You have entered the dimension of sight and sound...
Don't attempt to adjust your set.....
For the next sixty minutes; we will control all that you see and hear...etc.
The next stop..."The Twilight Zone"....

Actually though; the sound could stem from a refrigerator or other device somewhere in the house that is pressed against the wall and is resonating....

Did you tell your parents about it? that's really weird, you know? if it's not any electrical appliance, then, what should it be? I can't answer your question, as I've never heard of something as weird as that!! if it doesn't go away, then, I'd guess it's a spirit trying to communicate with you??
