there is a lot of nice water shows at night on the strip. belligio hotel has a great one. You should check out Paris, Egypt, and the New York sections of Las Vegas. Each is set up to look like the location they are in.
you can take a bus to most of these places and most are just down the street from each other.
If you enjoy shopping the Fashion show Mall is the place to go. You can go down to Fremont Street, which is known as downtown las vegas, the older section of town.
obviously, those were just a few great places, there are many more to experience
if you get a chance Hoover dam and The Grand Canyon are also great places, not too far from Vegas : )

Make sure to check out the old downtown. Fitzgerald's seem to pay well on slots if you are going to gamble. You can get a bus pass that last for 24 hours. It runs up and down the strip and to the old downtown. It's a lot of walking in Vegas. You will want to ride the bus.

you should stay at the mgm grand... definitely the best casino in las vegas! and just walk around in all the casinos (there are bridges connecting all the casinos)... excalibur, new york new york, aladin (not the best), circus circus, belaggio, mirage, ... you will have a great time! with all the buffets and the lights and the 'dring dring dring' of all the coins spitting out of the machines, and the elvis presley phoneys.... enjoy your stay!

The buffet at Paris, it's worth it.
Bellagio and Venitian.
And just about everything else looks like a big mall with gambling.
