how do you get wood cip off the walls?

me an my family are stripping the walls but it has woodchip on it. is there an easier way of getting it off?

If it's on with an adhesive--well, I've never seen a good solvent for it. You might consider just putting drywall or plasterboard over it. You'll lose 1/2 inch in the room but save yourself a ton of time. Good luck.
