My PC, with a Intel 845 Brookdale Motherboard and a Pentium 4 Processor currently has 256 MB of RAM (PC133).
I have searched the makers site (Micron PC) and other sites from Google and Yahoo etc and am unable to find this PC's memory limit to what the motherboard will recognize.
Does anyone know from looking at the information I provided above? Thanks

the respond is "confident" the quantity of assignable ram relies upon on the two the working gadget and the mum board. as an occasion, residing house windows ninety 8 has a optimum cap of 2gb of ram. residing house windows 2000 professional helps 4gb. XP helps 128 (i think of). The motherboard effectively limits the quantity (and greater importantly variety) of RAM which may be used. many times, mom boards have 4 sockets for RAM. component notice, in case you will get the RAM for a stable deal, choose for it. If no longer, shop your cash. the reality is which you will in effortless terms have the potential to characteristic possibly a three hundred and sixty 5 days or so of use to the computer by utilising updating the ram and it relatively is no longer well worth spending $two hundred on RAM once you will get a sparkling computing device for some hundred funds.

Check your owners manual or you could open your case and multiply the number of memory slots by 2 gb and thats how much max memory your computer supports. (thats because 2 gb is the largest memory size available for new computers)

An easy and fast way to find out is to remove the casing of your PC and look inside to see if there is an extra memory slot next to the existing one; if yes, copy the data of the existing Memory card and go get another similar one. If this is too much for you to handle, get a knowledgeable friend and have him/her do it for you.

Usually, there is always at least one extra slot for upgrading purposes.

Good luck

If you still have the owner's manual, the maximum capacity should be listed in the Memory section.
