i havent stayed there but it looks ugly... the carpet is nasty looking (yes, it has carpet everywhere) and a lot of areas in it smell like smoke and the lighting was terrible when i went inside. I dont like saying this about hotels, especially the ones on the las vegas strip, but i thought the new york new york hotel was a bit run down looking.

no, its ok but i would recommend the MGM grand
its spectacular, its a mile and a half long and opposite new york new york.
u def need a good hotel when u go to las vegas otherwise it totally spoils the experience!!
good luck- theyre all pretty good its just the mgm had a nicer feel about it, people were friendlier, good restaraunts- i no u can go to da other hotels but anyway- its also very clean in there and the rooms are awesome!!! and u cant here any noises from the casino once u leave the immediate casino area (hope that makes sense) also there are about 6 different pools so its great!!

I crossed through there once, it was full of smoke, and had loud music playing. It doesn't equal the real New York of course.
People that have stayed there have liked it a lot.
Don't go just because it has the roller coaster, if you are staying there you still have to wait on the long line along with everyone else, and enjoy the 45 second ride with everyone else.
If your looking for rollercoasters, try the adventure dome.
Check out the link below, they are reviews, with pictures, of the hotel from people who stayed there.
Enjoy your trip!

I didn't stay in the hotel but I was in the casino part and the restaurants in early October. I thought it was really cool. I want to stay there next time I go. I think that first poster is way off base. I didn't see any dirty areas in the casino. We especially loved the Greenwich Village style food court. We ate 3 times at least at the Fulton Street Fish & Chips. It was cheap and so good. Clam Chowder in a bread bowl for less than $5 and a family meal deal for $15 that included slaw, fish, chicken, shrimp and chips. We also ate at the "America" restaurant. I thought it was a little spendy but would do the all you can eat pancakes for $6.95 if I had the chance.

We stayed there a couple years ago and were upgraded to a corner room. It was fabulous ... windows on two sides of the room, nice and clean. The bathroom is just a regular bathroom, nothing fancy. The roller coaster didn't bother us and we could see it from the room. The casino is noisy, but what casino isn't? I really like New York New York and would stay there again. The steak house, Gallighers (spelled wrong) is really good, but pricey.
Have fun!

never stayed in the casino hotels but have been to vegas several times. i would say that having relatives out there, they are all pretty much the same. if u are only going for the sights, why not try a cheaper hotel and book a few tours. flight over the grand canyon with lunch is relatively cheap and a sight not to be missed.

I just stayed there for 5 days last month. It was really cool. The whole inside is set up to look like the streets of new york, and there is a GREAT pizza place. It has a rollercoaster, and a fun arcade set up upstairs to look like coney island. On the downside, the pool is adequate at best, and there is no buffet.

It's very noisy and kind of frantic - I haven't stayed there but I am not sure it would be too relaxing. If you want a quieter time try a more laid back property like the Luxor. I am sure there are others - Desert Inn is fab but expensive . . .
