I have blonde hair and blue eyes (but sometimes they look green too). I like wearing eyeshadow, but always end up with brown/shiny variants...
any suggestions?

Your shadow should compliment your eye color, not your hair color. If your eyes are blue, I wouldn't use blue on them. That is so 80's. Brown is actually the best color to use in my opinion but you can try a gray shade for some drama. It really makes you look sultry. If you dont like brown or gray, you can experiment with pinks or burgandy shades. The colors will contrast with the blue (or green) of your eyes and make them look brighter and more vibrant.

If you have blue eyes, then the most complementing colors would be silvers and light browns. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES USE BLUE EYESHADOW. That will blend with your eye color and make you look like you have huge eyes with no end, or look like someone with terrible taste. If you are wearing a blue outfit of some kind, I would recommend a more shimmery silver eyeshadow. With any other outfit, a silver or a light brown. Even a light blue eyeshadow will blend with your eyes. You can also use brown eye liner to enhance the look of your eyes (but only go 3/4 of the way in, otherwise you have put on too much). Also, black mascara (light mascara- do not put on too much, it does not go as well with blue eyes as the other things I have mentioned). Eye makeup (eyeshadow, eye liner, mascara, etc) should match your eyes, not your hair. I hope this helps you.

I would suggest going to the store, and picking up some pencil liners in blue, teal, and green. Depending on the shape of your eye, you could make a very nice detailed assortment of colour. Or, simply apply a blue on the inner lid near the nose, a brown on the outer lid near the ear, ('in' the crease of your eye) and then a nice light metallic green liner across, very dramatic and would compliment your changing eye colour.

You need to wear make up according to your skin tone and eye color. If you are trying to match anything you are in trouble. Smokey eyes are the way to go this season. If your eyes are green the wear it's compliment which is plums and dark purple. Blue eyeshadow has been out since 1976!! Whatever you choose make sure it is blended well. You don't want to see defined lines of every color you chose to wear. Keep it simple and blend it well. Good luck.

I'm the same blond blue eyes i prefer browns or pinks but it also depends on your skin tone I'm a very pinky colour not peachy coloured so blues don't do it for me best thing is to buy a cheap multi coloured set of eye make up Christmas is coming :-) or go to a beauty store and get free advise or local colleges some times want models for free or very cheap to practise on and you could get advise there

You should be able to pull off any cool shade, but your skin tone plays a huge part of it too; are you a peaches and cream blonde or a tan blonde??? Real or bottle??? Where are you wearing this to, work or going out because the lights are going to make the make up look different. I also agree with what the$ 0.02 guy said. Keep it soft and natural, too much makes people look garish and can age you.

Try a smokey violet, matt not shiny. I know it sounds odd, when you've got blue-green eyes, but I think it works really well.

Not blue, especially not light blue.

If you go for green, keep it to the olive end of the range and away from the turquoise end.

I have blonde hair and greenish eyes - do you find yours change colour according to what you're wearing ? I try different colours, but always come back to the aubergine/mauve/violet end of town, for some reason it makes my eyes look greener, dunno why.

I LOVE burgandy. I have blonde hair/blue eyes too. I really makes my eyes standout without looking gawdy. Green or teal looks great on my eyes, but I always feel like a clown with green eyeshadow.

i think for blonde hair blue eyes chicks like you should try smoky eyes, as you have a light colour of hair, maybe try to play with dark colours. blues eyes are best to wear grey, black, pink, sliver and mauve. try choosing a dark colour eyeshadow for your eye lid and then maybe blend in a light colour eyeshadow on the edge of your eyes, hope this imfomation helps...

try some golds, you can use them with greens if your skin tone can handle it. i've found browns really bring out my eyes, but purples are good too. i cant pull off pinks (i'm too pale) but if you have a tanner skin tone (as opposed to my ivory) you might be able too. try some greys, maybe with blue/purple undertones. my favorite thing to do is use MAC paint, in purple (cant remember the exact color name) and then put some darker grey in the crease and make a more smokey eye, and put a little on the lid just to tone down the purple, but not so much so that you cant tell there is purple under it.
