Can anyone remember a pre 90's toy that consisted of large boards/panels & white clips?

Question

You could build things such as a car and a plane ect large enough for a small child to sit in. The panels had designs on them appropriate to the things you could build. It was brought from toy'r'us in 1989-1990. I'm trying to find out the name or make of it
