I know how you feel. We have two cats and we have cat hair EVERYWHERE. We did a couple things
1. we are in the living room a lot of the time so we put a air machine in there so that the cat hair is not just floating around in the air, its in little hair balls on the floor (which now I have to sweep everyday), and for the sofa we have coach covers and I put towels down on top of those so that when the cats sleep on the coach they sleep on the towels. When me and kyleigh want to sit on the coach we take the towels off. Yes it is in extra step but she isn't covered in cat hair.
2. I leave her door open and the cats do go into her room. Lucky loves her rocking chair (don't worry parents they do not get into her bed) so once again I put a towel down on that
I notice that I am vaccuming alot more now. We have hard wood floors all upstairs so its easy to get the hair off the floor but downstairs im sweep probably a good 3-4 times a week. I brush my cats alot and that doesn't seem to help. Good Luck!

You have to brush your cat often. You can also buy an ionizer, it changes the charge in the air so things like dust and hair fall to the floor instead of floating around.

Keep baby wipes handy to whisk hairs off baby's skin. Use a non-sticky lint brush for the clothes. Having pets is important, it can prevent some kinds of asthma.

I hope noone ever tells you "I told you so" about getting rid of the cat.
Cats are very unpredictable and very jealous especially bringing a baby home.
Don't risk your baby. Trust me I know. My 1st son was scratched in the face out of the blue. Very very dangerous.

Baby's room should be off limits to kitty... just do the best that you can. Try brushing kitty twice a week to get rid of excess fur before it sheds.

i spray all my furniture with an anti static cling spray. that helps keep it from sticking so badly. also, make sure you are vacuuming daily to keep hair from building up.
