I know that magazines often, well, practically always airbrush, but I always thought differently about Playboy and Maxim. Do they airbrush? On the radio the other morning, a female DJ mentioned that her friend in college got picked for a college Playboy spread. She said her friend was very attractive but had cellulite and whatnot- that the makeup and airbrushing / photo adjustments made her look much sexier. Does anyone know for a fact if they airbrush?

I can say for a fact that Maxim airbrushes (I think heavily). My cousin (who I will not name) is frequented in Maxim and FHM (most recently in the girls of the internet issue) and she is what I think was very much airbrushed, even for skin tone sometimes. I don't know about Playboy, but I assume they do as well, but I don't think as much.

There are certainly some men out there who expect their women to look like that, but most men do not. I am married to a beautiful woman who would closely fit the description you set here. It's not that her boobs are too small, she has too many stretch marks or a few extra pounds. It's only using Maxim or Playboy as a standard that one makes those determinations. I think she's perfect. Even the women who actually appear in those magazines cannot live up to those standards, thus the required airbrushing!

I know for a fact and the minute you learn to see the difference between airbrushed and non, you will notice that this happens in almost all magazines.

Most magazines airbrush the photos. I am a full-figured gal and subscribe to a full-figured fashion magazine. I KNOW most of the models have to have some flaws, but you wouldn't know it by looking at their lingerie photos.

Yes. They are probably the ones that made airbrushing popular in the first place.

Yep, they do. The women's magazines where women worship themselves in an idealized form airbrush as well.

You could probably find the answer online, try Yahoo search or something. I bet they do though, they're selling aesthetic beauty, so they're hardly going to leave imperfections on there
