Companies in general are greedy because shareholders and board members demand a bottom line that shows a profit margin. Pressured management and others that actually run the company look to a quick solution to improve profits and keep their jobs. This often results in short-sighted decisions that help the profit in the short term, but often hurt it in the long term. Most companies fall into this trap of pursuing the profit margin over long term gains in market and more gradual profit margins.

Then use your power as a consumer and stop buying them. I am a PC gamer and the developers and publishers release half made games. I quit buying them along with quite a few other people who game and it seems to have made a difference.

And by the way, unless you are starving and taking food, there is no excuse for stealing. Theft is theft. This attitude of "Hey, they're a big company, they can afford it" is stupid. Guess who pays for it in the end? Everyone. Think they are going to take a loss? No flippin way.

Why do bears sh** in the woods,
Why do politicians lie,
Why do dogs lick their ba**s

Because they can.

Record companies are greedy because they are record companies. They rip off the buyer and the artists.
