Not all area's of the UK will zoom in as far as others. As far as I am aware it is due to national security purposes and sometimes because the satellite image has not been taken so closely of that part of the world. It is quite normal though. Hope this helps...Lee

Yes it is normal. Not all areas are in high res, they are updating areas all the time. for sharp high res images of the uk try multimap. Google earth is probably the greatest program ever created, try zooming into the grand canyon and then tilt. Amazing

It won't be a ecurity issue becuase high resultion imagery of the whole UK is publicly available elsewhere. I presume that it's just a case of purchasing and uploading the detailed imagery. It is frustrating to get such poor imagery of many parts of the UK when other areas UK or elsewhere can be so detailed.

Hi. Not all of the Earth has been mapped in high resolution yet. Some military/sensitive areas may never be. If the NASA link works, use that.

There are alot of places in the US that it won't zoom in on either. Most just don't have the information yet.

It won't let you zoom in on Exeter becuase the Royal Marines Training base is in Lympstone!

Bath is not there either, quite a lot of the UK has not been mapped. Meanwhile look at Buckingham Palace and the Tower of London, if you look closely enough you will see me waving at you.
