For large companies and such? Are there firms that hire speakers? Or does one have to do it on their own?

The question does not pertain to myself.

Of course, if someone wants to be an inspirational speaker, they have a story to tell!!! What else would they speak about?? I'm asking this question because someone that I know is very inspiring and everyone tells him that he should become an inspirational speaker. Thank you.

I've met a lot of the most famous motivational speakers.. mostly through my executive work in corporations..

All of them had one thing in common.. A STORY!!

I remember Peter O Toole who went from being an illiterate unemployable to now owning and running a massive bakery in the bush no less.. his story was one of passion and driving for a goal..

And the ex-convict who went from being a lawyer to prisoner for armed robbery to model citizen again.. his story was about thinking positive to be positive.. that sort of thing..

These are the types of motivationalists the corproations are hiring..

If you just want to be nice and lovely and have a nice lovely job where you can "inspire" people.. JOIN THE QUEUE!!

I'm a budding speaker too.. but am too busy for it now.. I've also penned a few books which will start going into print soon..

My story is I was once homeless.. and worked 3 jobs while studying 2 courses.. all at the same time..

I did that for 7 years..

I now own numerous businesses.. including a newly formed recording label.. which i intend to use to help kids like what i used to be.. reach their dreams.. since I didn't have the chance myself..

So if you have a story.. and think you can inspire people with it.. then start by creating a point.. a reason.. you need a passion for it.. I've been motivating people all my life.. and when I become a speaker.. it'll be natural.. everythign I say will be spontaneous.. not pre-written.. because everything I say is true.. not exagerated.. its all about hard work.. if u havn't done it yourself.. then you are not going ot effectively motivate others to work hard.. and essentially the corproations want to hire these speakers purely for one reason.. which is to inspire their workforce to work harder.. or smarter..

Chances are.. if you havnt done something major.. or at the very least toiled immesurably.. then you will not be a highly effective motivationalist.. no one listens to fluffers with no life experience..

There are firms that hire speakers and celebs. You can also get started with the local Toastmasters club (which if I remember right is free of charge) where people are taught to speak well in public. As a whole it really isn't an easy thing because there are so many famous people that speak that unless that person was really special or some type of expert on a subject they really wouldn't have any merit to hire as a speaker. People want to see someone that they can grow from. I have seen many inspirational speakers in my career and this is just what I have seen.

I guess the biggest question is do you inspire. If so, then you can be an inspirational speaker.

You need a platform or an issue to speak about. You can also go to college and major in speech to learn how to write and deliver speeches.
