Check your premises. There are vital differences between you contradicting yourself, you contradicting your personality, and your personality (your nature) contradicting itself.

Taking your question at face value (the latter example), natures laws must eternal remain consistent, universal, and in harmony, lest existence degenerate into unreality and universal order be destroyed. Conflict brings destruction and internal conflict brings self-destruction, a bad thing IMHO.

There may be only one contradiction with your nature and that is your deliberate exercise of free will against yourself. Yes, this is very bad and, if it continues to strengthen, may quickly lead to mental instability, insanity, and death.

Whenever nature (i.e. personality) seems to contradict herself, you have misunderstood her. Check your premises and investigate further, for something being observed is either not real or illogical, inconsistent, deceptive.

Personalities don't change. Perspectives change, philosophies change, attitudes and approaches to life change. But the essence of you is constant and unchanging. Discovering yourself, you quickly realize that your preconceptions about yourself are not always accurate. No contradiction, just a misunderstanding of your personality.

That's a very general question.

Essentially, you're learning.

When you learn, you realize things you didn't know beforehand and these new developments may lead you to question what you thought earlier.

If you're constantly contradicting yourself, you should try to set either a more open system of beliefs and ideas or remain focused on one and stay true to it

Yes and no.

You have many sides to your personality, you have your main insiital animal reaction, your gut insincts, your initial thoughts for yourself, your thoughts for others.

So many things to balance in your life, you will sometimes need to contradict yoruself.

i would say that is normal.
to get over the contradictions (which can be confusing)
you have to get down to the basic layers of yourself.
i recommend yoga or meditation or martial arts to get there.
