I have a friend that sometimes gushes about how "pretty" I am. When in all actuallity I think I'm average. It makes me feel somewhat uncomfortable when she does this.

haha... My grandmother comes to mind. She used to always go on and on incessantly about how beautiful my complexion is. One time, though, when my uncle was there and I was about 14 or 15, she was like, "MY, she has a nice BOSOM!" I turned tomato red, my uncle did too, and my mom tried to explain why she shouldn't say that... so awkward.

People, especially teenagers, have self-esteem issues. Take your friend for her word, you probably are pretty.
Think about it like this: How would you like it if your friend said instead: "Hey "your name here" you are pretty average looking".
Although it's what your feeling, I would think that would make you feel more uncomfortable.
Here is an idea: get the best, sexiest (not slutty) pic you can find of yourself and post it on hotornot.com
Its totally anonymous, and other people can rate you. Then you'll know if your pretty or average or whatever.
if your rated average, dont sweat it either, the people there are pretty stingy with their 9's and tens.

Good grief! Take the complement! When someone pays you a compliment just take it and say thank you. No need to get all flustered or upset. If she says it everytime you see her then just tell her it makes you uncomfortable and i'm sure she'd stop. Don't try to turn it into a soap opera.

Yes, when people say I look so youg for my age. (21) I was told I looked 14 when I was 19 and this really annoyed me. Also sometimes tall girls say "you're so cute" I'm 5'2 and not likely to grow anymore now. Although I say back "good things come in small packages," sometimes I wonder why I coudn't be tall when I wanted to be all my life.

Yes, I get told that my chest is really big. Grrr... I want to get out the shotgun and shoot them all in the head!!! Because it's in front of everyone when they say it. I am uncomfortable with them even looking at me now. And they're girls!!! Sick perverts.

Yes, that happens to me a lot too, and I don't like it either.
Also, I get told I look so young all the time too. You would think this would make you feel good, but it make me feel like I look like a child.
