I agree with you and after reading Drew Barrymore's Autobiography I totally understand why they end up that way. You take a child and put them in the spotlight at the center of attention with more money than they can even count and they have no real direction. What do you expect? No child would be able to come out of that unscarred. They end up being more worldly than most adults before they are even a teen. Children need a certain amount of sheltering.

I think that Ashley and Mary-Kate are succesful young adults. What one of the twins go through is something we cannot controll at times. we think that stars aren't suppose to go through things that nomal people go through, only because they have money and resources. Lindsay on the other hand, she just big headed. She is a star and when we are raised thinking I have money or fame I can do and get away with anything, we do childish things. Look at Drew Barrymore she went through what she did because of her mother, but look at her now that she is her own adult. Also Raven Symone, she is a beautiful and talented young lady.

Child actors don't have it as easy as people think. They work a lot and they don't get to go to school and be social like other kids...they have tutors on set. They have tons of money and some of them have little or no guidance as to what to do with it. The lucky ones like Brooke Sheilds have good parents who look out for them and their money and they turn out okay.
Hollywood puts so much pressure on them to look and act and be a certain way...some of them just can't handle it.

Power corrupts. Its a universal law.
The idealistic world of acting ruled by the dreams of authors and producers must fail in the real world ruled by the laws of nature.

Because they live in a fantasy world. When they grow out of their "cuteness", they lose their job, and they have to survive in the real world -- they don't know how, they haven't been taught how to deal with reality.

Not all do. Ron Howard (Andy Griffith's Opie) has had a heck of a career and seems like a really decent guy.
