I just ordered a new computer and DSL (not from the same company). The DSL provider says I need a "Pre-equipped Ethernet Network Interface Card". I checked the specs on the new computer and it says it has a "Network (LAN) Integrated 10/100 Base-T networking interface".

Are these the same thing?

Forgive my ignorance and thank you.

The answer to your question is yes. They are the same thing. I will warn you about DSL connections, allow your computer to come to life completely, make sure all antivirus systems are up and working completely. Then plug your LAN cable into your computer. Most DSL servers are loaded down with spy ware and viruses. By allowing your computer and all of its systems to be up and running before you plug it in. Will keep your computer relatively safe from the viruses that are located on the DSL servers. When you have finished using your computer, make sure you unplug it from the DSL line.

You're good.
Do you have an ethernet cable\cord that you need to plug into the DSL modem then the computer? If you try it on the back of your PC & it fits, trust me, you are really good! Ethernet's are much wider\fatter than any regular phone line & you'll not mistake the ends once you see them.

Good luck.

You have the NIC, as they say because you have the LAN\T-networking interface (card).

nearly all new pc's come with an hardwired ethernet adapter/connection, yours is INTEGRATED, as the word implies, it is part of the system (mother) board and not a card in a bus slot (that can be removed). Many also come with a wireless card of some kind, most often in a notebook computer that also has an integrated ethernet adapter.

You have it already. I just had Verizon DSL installed and it used the Ethernet device....looks like a large telephone jack.
