I think the people you are hoping will answer don't want to think of themselves as victims and certainly don't want to relive their agonies by recounting their stories on here and therefore are staying quiet! I will try though - after much thought I do actually recall being bullied when I was very young. When I first started school in fact at the ripe old age of five. I was an only child and never met any others my age until I started school so I hadn't a clue how to behave in a group - how to interact socially with these little strangers who mostly all came from the same area and knew each other before starting school. I was picked on because I was the odd one out (actually there were two of us and we are still best friends today) but I learned frighteningly fast how to stand up for myself (and my friend). In the end there are only two types of people - those who learn to cope with the world, and those who don't. Somewhat simplistic maybe but that is what it boils down to in the end I believe. Anyway, there you have it - a very short story about a time which I had completely (almost) forgotten about. Did those early lessons shape me into the person I am today? Actually, yes, I can see there may be a little influence there...but there again, maybe not. To me, you see, it really wasn't that important at the time...just the way things were. I am an accepting sort of person....maybe that is the lesson I learnt back then!
