Some Folk detest the thought of Eating Snails as with other types of Seafood , Jelllied Eels , Etc , but when I have eaten them in a little French Restaurant that I go to, I really did enjoy them , really well presented with plenty of Garlic Etc. = Very Enjoyable -- but not everyone,s taste . ???

They are usually eaten with garlic for good reason, and in that respect, and only that respect, do they resemble chicken - very little taste of their own, but good at keeping the flavours with which they are combined. And If poorly prepared, mud!

They normally taste of garlic as that is the sauce that they are cooked or prepared in, on their own there would not be a lot of taste, I think the French only eat them to wind people up.

they are pretty bland, but then so is chicken on it's own!!
snails are best in garlic butter and bread on the side.
the texture is a bit strange, but i love them, i recommend you try them at least once!!
i have also had snails done a lovely creamy cheese and garlic sauce..... very tasty!!!!
