Can someone give an example of diction & syntax please?

I've read the definitions from a dictionary, but I still don't quite understand how to use/find them.

Hard to explain better than the dictionary does:

Diction - choice of words, correctness, clearness, effectiveness, wording, enunciation. Accurate pronunciation, manner of speaking, articulation.

Syntax - the way in which words are *put together* to form phrases, clauses or sentences.
