JFK and Clinton we're both good-looking men. And since Bush was better-looking (SADLY) than Kerry and Gore that's why he got in.

I GUARANTEE you, the better looking candidate ALWAYS wins.

BLUE!

It's unfortunate but true. The 1st televised presidential debate was the one between JFK and Nixon. Folks that heard it on the radio thought Nixon did well but those who saw it on TV overwhelmingly came out in favor of JFK. It's human nature. In fact it's animal nature. Peahens are attracted to peacocks due in large part to their colorful, ornamental feathers. In other words, the peahens always vote for the better looking candidates too. But here's the kicker, like or not, better looking people get treated better, they're received more warmly and people are more receptive to them in general. All other things being equal, and they never are, that could be a plus when it comes to diplomatic relations and the US could use some help in that area right about now. Elections are popularity contests whether you're a kid voting for your high school student body president or an adult voting for the US president. Yes, many voters do try to peel back the layers of a candidate's spin onion to determine whether they're truly vote-worthy or not and some people also watch grass grow in their spare time. The masses don't have the time or energy to devote to that laborsome (and arguably meaningless) task, so they go with their "gut" and their "gut" tells them to vote for whoever "looks" like s/he can do the job better. Their "gut" is tied to their eyes. They're inextricable and if your eyes inform your gut, even on a subconscious level, then you're voting for the better-looking candidate.

That's as depressing a thought as I have heard in a long time. I'll leave it to women (& San Fran men?) to evaluate the accuracy of your observation.
