Given a wide range of anecdotal evidence, I'd guess that ticklishness could be considered as having a physical component and a mental component, and that each individual's ticklishness could be split by percentage. So many people say they've just become less ticklish or even not at all ticklish over time that it ought to be at least possible for some people to be able to do it on purpose, and there are desensitizing techniques to reduce physical ticklishness. Overall, I'd guess it probably depends on the individual.

I'm pretty much ticklish all over! I get over the feeling by applying more pressure or just by getting used to being touched on that area. You have to go through this everytime though! E.g. If you are ticklish on your feet, whoever is touching your feet should apply more pressure in a rhythmic motion so that you get used to it! The only thing is you have to go through this each time your feet are touched.

So no! there isn't really

Yes, send your mind elsewhere. I was tickled abusively by my siblings as a child and I learned to turn it off. Only my husband can tickle me now, and even he can't 100% of the time.
