I purchased a used sofa and it has some tears in it and want to know where I can buy stuff and how to do it to patch it up. It's a black pleather sofa, for sure it's not leather but an imitation. Please help

In Wal-Mart there is a furniture patch plastic and ointment kit that is under 3 dollars and it works. You can also use a patch repair kit for waterbeds that will blend in with any color because it a clear patch, or if the rip is not huge the ointment will mend it and it holds better.

Tears from? I don't know.
Tears on, thats a different story.
I haven't a clue.
The hardware store?
A furniture repair place to recommend products. They have to get their supplies from some wholesaler somewhere.
Otherwise, reupholster in you fabric/covering of your choice, cover it up with a sheet(recommended because it's obviously seen better life somewhere and now it's dead) or throw the cheap thing out and start over

You can also go to an auto store and have a choice of repair kits, a boat store is another place. Check with "Joann's" fabric, they have a variety of craft projects to choose from.
