Maybe not all parents. But it doesn't mean they dislike the other child. I think parents doesn't admit it probably because they know they shouldn't have only 1 favorite they all should be the favorite.... even if they have only 1 favorite kid doesn't mean they are bad parents.

I have two boys and I can honestly say that I don't have a favorite.
Each of them has different personality traits that are equally endearing. My oldest has a more artistic temperament and has a knack for creative endeavors. My youngest is much more pragmatic but is much more "people" oriented and slightly on the mischievous side. My oldest will always be special because he was my first. My youngest will always be special because he is my last.
Truly no favorite here...

Yes! I was my Dad's favorite, though he never admitted it outright. It caused so much resentment by my mom, who favored my brother (a little Freudian, eh?), that we battled constantly.
This is why, among other reason, I opted to only have one kid. Luckily, my spouse was of the same mind. We've never regretted it.

no because each child has there own personality and they each do something to make you smile and laugh and the love is still equal like for example you will have one who pushes themselves more then others with schoolwork etc and that makes you happy and proud.
Then you have the other who is funny and silly makes you laugh and who is also caring to others that one makes you proud there are different qualities about them but you love them both but for different reasons you still want to protect the both of them and nurture the both of them and hope for the best from both of them

well, i think in some instances they do. I don't think people mean to, it just seems like it happens. i am not sure why. sometimes, it could be that one child and one parent relate well for whatever reason.

Of course, but with me and my brothers, not so much now as in the past. My bothers and I are getting more equal with each passing year.
