I have lived my life by the goals I set when I was 22. I'm now 71. Write down your short term goals. Then list your long term goals. Write these down on a piece of substantial paper because by the time you finish off your goals you will have nearly worn out you paper. My husband did this in 1957. It was 8 years ago that we crossed off the last goal that we listed. It felt soooo good to have accomplished all of our goals. I love a challenge. You can do anything you set your mind to do. Don't ever tell your self something is impossible. "Dream the impossible dream"

OMG, enough with the "everything is possible" crap.
No, not everything is possible. If you dream of flying like a bird without any mechanical aid, you are going to die if you jump off a roof. Setting it as a goal is unrealistic.
If you want to be the first person to step foot on a new planet in another galaxy, guess what? It is impossible! Our technology is so far from the capability, there is NO Possible way it can happen in your lifetime. Setting this as a goal is a waste of time.
Here's my opinion on it. If it is impossible to complete, then it is a dream. If you can do it, and try to work towards it, it is a goal.
Question for all you "no such thing as impossible" people:
If nothing is impossible, then wouldn't it be impossible to find something that is impossible?

A better question may be how do you make an impossible goal possible?
Set milestone goals to the impossible goal. For example in your goal of being CEO of the largest and most successful fast food chain would start by being an assistant manager, then store manager, then district manager, to being a franchise owner, all while attending school taking classes that will help you excel in business.

everything is possible, you just need to believe in yourself and change that chain of thought. about becoming the ceo of McDonald's, that's possible. all you need to do is try to start from the bottom and work your way up. try to go back to school or just continue with your education. get the associates then the bachelors and go further if you still want to. look at it as a hill that you want to climb and with much water food and other sustainance you'll reach the top. all the best.

nothing is impossible. it's just semantics anyway. you want to be the ceo of mcdonalds? do whatever you need to do to get there. you only have a ged--ok. so keep going, get a business degree, start working at restaurants, etc. it might be unlikely but it's not impossible.

Not really, one has to be a realist. There is no dishonor in giving it ones best, however. If the goal becomes all consuming, stressful, just too much work, time to move on to some other goal.

To be successful one must believe in the impossible. Nothing is impossible ask anyone that has made it big time. Go for it :-)

I wouldn't consider this an impossible goal. Make short term goals that you can reach that are consistant to your long term goals.

I would consider it something to aim for, but not necessarily the final goal.
If one aims as high as they possibly can, they'll land at their optimum potential.

Chat with Bill Gates....then ask the question again. You just have to take life in small steps....then you ultimately reach your goal....
