Only 35% of those killed in the holocaust were Jewish, yet the world (particularly the USA) denies the other 65%.
Most, approx 40% were Slavs, ostensibly those of Poland, Russia and Czechoslavakia. The remainder, approx 25% were made up of political objectors (mostly Communists), gypsies (who've been persecuted by the Roman Catholic church since the fall of the Roman Empire), disabled people (thought to be a burden on the state, and as having flawed genes), & homosexuals (seen as genetically wrong, as the church thinks, too)

There are tons, and I mean tons of resources on the Holocaust. Just google it and you will get several websites.

"The Pianist" and "Schindler's List" are two great films on the subject, however, "The Pianist" is a memoir of a piano-playing Polish Jew who managed to escape being sent to the camps while his family was hauled off in trains to death camps. It is more about survival than the Holocaust itself. Also rent "Escape from Sobibor," too. It's also a good watch.

Here are some good books:

*"Treblinka" by Jean-Francois Steiner
*"The Hiding Place" by Corrie Ten Boom
*"The Diary of Anne Frank" by Anne Frank
*"Survival in Auschwitz" by Primo Levi
*"In Bluebeard's Castle: Some Notes Towards the Redefinition of Culture" by George Steiner
*"The Theory and Practice of Hell: The German Concentration Camps and the System Behind Them" by Eugene Kogon

NOTE: "In Bluebeard's Castle" is somewhat difficult to read, depending on your reading level. It isn't on the Holocaust per se but it is about Western culture itself in relation to some of the atrocities committed in the 20th century.

Google the website for the Simon Wiesenthal Center in Los Angeles. They have some good stuff there, too. If you live in L.A., it's a good place to visit. You will NOT be entertained but you will be awakened and educated. If you are not in L.A. they do have other ones in different areas (I think there's one in the D.C. area, too).

Holocaust is a form of sacrificing something. In the Bible holocaust means the thing offered in sacrifice.
In present time, or rather since the last world war, The Holocaust refers to the extermination of Jews by the Nazi Germany. Their extermination is compared to the sacrificing of a whole race to appease the perpetrators of the extermination: Hitler's Nazi

It is seeing that of the way in which the Jews have been slaughtered. Holocaust comes style the Greek phrase holokaustus, because of this to burn or devour by means of hearth. Those others slaughters didn't make use of the approach of fireplace as did the Nazis.
