When I saw my doctor for the first time with this baby and my last I should have been 8 weeks pregnant. With both of them I was only 6. I know when my periods were and I know I was right about the dates. I would make sure to stay off your feet and go back for the next ultrasound like you should. I had to go back with both of them. And although my due date changed we got to see a heart beat. That was when the baby was 9 weeks and I should have been 11. I am still pregnant with this one so I hope it survives and with my last.... Well lets just say she is a healthy, happy, pain in the rear!! She is 16 months old now. Good luck. I hope all goes well.

I am sure you are worried, I was as well... the same thing happened to me.
I thought I was 8 weeks when we found out calculating from my LMP, but from blood work I was only 3 weeks along, went for sonogram and she said she saw nothing! I was really scared, did alot of praying and it turns out, the dates were just wrong, I went back for another sonogram at 7 weeks, and sure enough there was a lil bean there with a heartbeat!
Even though we plan & plan, we really never know when conception starts, so you are probably just too early to detect anything on sonogram. I am sure when you go back, everything will be fine.
Not to worry... (easier said than done, I know)
I will keep you in my prayers!

Stressing out will make everything worse. I had an ultrasound at what I thought was 10 weeks & they told me I was only 6. They have no way of knowing that you are 6 weeks for sure, you could actually be only 5 weeks.
That early it's hard to find a heartbeat. When I went in for mine, a friend warned me of that right away (also did the ultrasound tech). When my friend went in, they couldn't find her sons heartbeat.... she was so worried. Her son is 7 now and one of the best (and healthiest) kids I know.
Good luck!

The more stress you make the more stress on the baby. If I was in your situation. i would only get off that couch to go to the bathroom I would drink plenty of water take my prenatal vitamins and eat healthy and think good thoughts. watch happy movies and funny things and stay away from a stressfull situations. The doctors would tell you to come in earlier if there was a big problem. My OB told me that I was farther along in my pregnancy that I thought She told me that i was 16 weeks and I did an ultrasound and she measured my baby and he was measureing 14 weeks. It was just miss calculation on the start of my period and my due date. I had a healthy baby boy. My best advice also is DONT GO ON THE NET AND LOOK FOR INFORMATION ON THIS! MOST OF IT IS Bull crap and will end up stressing you out even more.
relax for the sake of yourself and your unborn child.

If a baby stopped growing sometimes its because you have been around smokers, and then the smoke travels down to the baby. That is not good.If u smoke,i would stop now,and when the baby is born still do not smoke around the baby.If u wanna dont do it in the house,do it outside.(im not saying u smoke but if u do).And if the smoke gets to the baby it reduces the amount of oxygen and nutrients that reach the unborn baby. This can lead to lack of oxygen getting to the baby. Also do not drink alchohal with a unborn baby.Like the doctor said, stay off ur feet for awhile, and i would stop stressing for now because that is not good for u.Dont be worried just yet, wait and see.My sister was born underweight but no one in my family smoked, when my sis was born they had to cut open my mothers stomach(I forgot what thats called).Anyway my sister was born VERY small but now is is a healthy girl.Nothing was wrong with her as she was growing up.UR child might be like that.So dont worry.Good luck and congradulations!

I had my first ultrasound at 8 weeks ( I am currently 10 weeks) and my baby measured a week too small. The Dr. says that it was still ok but we were also able to see it's heartbeat. I hope everything works out ok for you measuring small isn't cause for too much alarm as long as your hormone levels are where they are supposed to be. Best of luck to you!

While only a health care professional can give you an accurate answer, I do know that the degree of stress that you are experiencing is definitely not healthy for the you or the baby. I know it's easier said than done, but please do your very best to remain calm & get the rest that the doctor recommended! My mother bled through her entire pregnancy with me, & I'm here, if that makes you feel any better. Best of luck to you! I'll keep you in my thoughts & prayers!

I am going through the exact same thing. I also have to go back in 2 wks. The only thing that made me feel better is that my Dr. checked my HCG hormone which shows if it is producing everyday. That may help you be at ease. I wish you the best and you'll be in my prayers.

Just do what they said, stay off your feet. Sometimes they can;t hear the heatbeat that early.
Don;t stress out or you will make it worse.
